So I realized I made a mistake in taking Journalism this year, as I really don't wanna take it at all! So I was thinking what I should take, and I realized I really wanna do swim! The one problem was I am not a speedo person, and I never was! The reason why I never did it at school was the speedo! Otherwise I probably would have taken it! But yeah I think I might take it! Any suggestions over all for swim? Especially how should I get ready physically?

As for how to get ready ... swim (duh), anything that will get you streched (my club has yoga sessions sometimes, which sounds freaky but works really well to keep you balanced in the water if you've been doing a lot of training) and cardio (so could include running / cycling / skipping).
DO IT.
Seriously, I feel so good about my body because of swimming, and I'm not particularly good.
Comparing me to my friend who does rugby as his main thing (we both do gym)
1) flexibility. i'm way more bendy. Ok maybe some of that is natural but I can do back crabs he can't, stuff like that.
2) genuine, useful, all over strength and fitness. my friend is way taller / bigger but when we do stuff like climbing, obstacle courses or helping his dad do DIY, i can do more. Straight lifting stuff he's stronger for sure, but he can't take me when we wrestle (most of the time lol).
3) self confidence and image. Bear in mind I'm one of the shortest in my year, and (according to this forum) an ectomord (aka naturally skinny bastard) but even so because swimming has given me really good muscle tone I feel good about how I look. I'm not like body-builder muscle, but its all there, its toned, hawtness  There's a couple of other guys around my age at my club who are stacked but i'm dead happy with how I look now compared to even 18 months ago when I started doing it more seriously.
4) speedos are hot except overweight or over hairy guys. Ok you may not think so, you may be shy, maybe you aren't looking at boys the same way I am, but trust me on this. Some cute person may well appreciate the view. A lot. This can only be A Good Thing. Also, I don't get how (some) boys seem have hang ups about speedos but are ok to wear eg wrestling one-pieces or even baseball uniforms which show plenty :P Ahem.

I actually am doing it this year. I'm doing it next semester. I am on Dance Company (JV Dance) and so I realized that's my stretch. And I have never been so comfortable about my body, yet I'm in good shape, so I just got to get use to it.

Coolio. Yeah for sure dance can be very good exercise. I did some ballet before I rebelled (mainly because I hated the music SO MUCH) and that's f*****g hard work. I prefer swimming because they have much better understanding of the sports science side so we get much better advice about diet and fitness, plus fitness tests so you can actually meansure improvements as well as going by race results etc. I know thats not everyones thing but I find it motivating.

Well I'm an extreme passionate dancer! I started a year ago in Dance 1, but I was really good I skiped a year or two to go into Dance Company. And I take ballet, and honestly it's a tiny bit of hard work, but because I have the strength, it's really fun for me. But I'm a fast swimmer, and all my friends say I should join swim, so well I'm now gonna do it!

anything that can build cardio and flexibility and muscle tone...don't go for muscle mass cuz that can be an issue with weight...I jog/run several miles every day and do lots of stretches

I'm a swimmer I wear Speedo and what they call jammer and they are like compresionshorts that's are thicker and don't show as much and if you're nervous about it showing man parts buy a dragsuit basically short shorts you wear over your swimsuit to caus drag (I wear as well) makes you faster and hides your parts pm me if have any questions swimming is my life id love to help(:
