I started puberty at around 12 years old. I noticed quiet a bit of growth (height, penis size, body hair, etc.) from 12 to 14. But once i turned 14 everything seemed to slow down ALOT. Now i am 15 and when i look at other guys my age, i use to think i looked older but now i have noticed that it seems like i am starting to look younger. An example of this is now one of my friends that is my age and started puberty about the same time and he was about my built. About 6 months ago, he started going to the local gym and with in a month, he had noticeable muscles (abs, biceps, etc.) I went with him for the same amount of time and did every single work out that he did, AS MUCH AS HE DID, and i barely started to show. So is this "pause"/slow down in puberty "normal?"

Perfectly normal. Some peoples muscles are really toned and what not. For example, a ballet dancer is stronger than a football player by far, but which one is bigger? also, puberty can sometimes go till your 21, relax bro, be patient, you'll get there.

i'd say it's normal i'm 16 and just had my only real growth spurt this summer, up to 5'7" a 4" increase. also put on about 20 pounds and added some muscle. i think i grew about 2 inches from 13 years old until this summer.

I d say normal but I dont really like the word as such, cos every boy is differant and a lot is genetic and where you are in the puberty stage.

You maybe started earlier than your mates so looked older or felt you did.

so now they catch up a bit and you feel younger in looks - maybe they have more obvious signs - facial hair or such.

Maybe its how you see yourself with peers and the gym thing maybe does n;t help - your mate has built muscle you have not.

But you did the same work out as him - why - what is good for him might not suit you - your body type - start point.

I gym and do judo - we have a gym at home - I live in foster care with 6 other boys and our Dad is brill here - but we all do the same but differant
so its like tailored if you like to our own sports.

maybe your mates getting help or just has a good work out plan for him

The summer is often the time young guys can grow a spurt - but again its
down to the start point - testosterone helps to build --

what sports do you do ?

diet does a lot for complexion as well as body - protien etc

we can all have a differant sort of body image how we see ourselves especially teens so my thing is dont get to hung up on comparing yourself to others - yes i know not doing so is hard

and I get cbt and therapy still cos off my past and the crap.

hope this helps

maybe your growth as slowed a bit but so much you cant see -

Yeah it seems normal. Everyone has their own rates. Don't worry about it. Just give it time.

Well, you may just be an early bloomer, so your puberty is maybe in its latest stages, while theirs is not as advanced, and thus you note the differences faster.

For muscles, simply they show more easily on some people than on others. It may be also because that guy has less fat, so they muscles become apparent quicker.

In all cases, though, nothing to worry, that's normal.
