I just met this guy I really like and want to get to know more. We texted over vacation back and forth and school will be starting soon. I was talking with some of my girl friends when he came over to say hi to us. He told me that he just saw another girl who is also one of my new friends, so I said I wanted to go say hi to her and I'd be right back.
I "conversation hopped" out of nervousness, went to go say hi to the girl, and then came back. But I felt really shy and nervous, so I probably stared at the ground or my other girl friends the whole time. He kind of just left awkwardly after saying he had to go or something.
How do I get past the nervousness? I am extremely confident around girls. I think it has something to do with my being raised by a single mother and not actually being sexually attracted to girls. But around guys, I'm always extremely nervous. Any tips?
