Ive tasted my own and it didnt really taste like anything except a tiny bit salty. For most people as far as i know it tastes salty. And yes its perfecty safe for you to eat and nothing bad will happen if you do so go ahead and do it if you want but if it digusts you than you dont have to do it.:D
