It could be from sadness, happiness, a sense of pride, the beauty of the song, maybe it makes you "cry on the inside" (for lack of a better term), it doesn't matter.

there is no songs make me cry , like literally crying , but there are some songs that give you the feeling as if you are going to cry , as if the tears started to accumulate on the front of eyes like ....

'Letters From Home' by John Michael Montgomery, only if I watch the music video.The part where the young Marine cries gets me every time. I can just connect and 'click' with that song in so many ways.
'Far Away' by Nickelback is a close second. I'm a volunteer firefighter here in my town and it just hurts me to see what could happen if something happens to me.
