Well, with acne you can see little bumps. Usually if it's on your face, back, or chest, it's usually acne. Acne is common during puberty, so I think it might be acne, but I really dont know what yours looks like. Just wash with soap everyday.

Well a picture of them would really help out. But if its acne then you should get something prescribed if you really want to get rid of it (or keep it under control like I am)

My first tip is to take a shower every day in the morning and use soap to wash your entire body. My second tip is if you do any sweating (being outside, playing sports etc) during the day, take a rinse-off with no soap in the evening a few hours before you go to bed.
Rubbing alcohol is different from alcohol that you drink. I believe you can buy rubbing alcohol as a minor, and when you apply a bit on cotton balls and rub them on your face, it gets rid of the oil on your face/back/chest so it's harder to develop zits and acne.
Make sure that your face is neither dry or oily and you don't touch your face constantly during the day. That can prevent germs from getting on your face. If your skin is dry, apply a small amount of hand lotion. If your skin is oily, use alcohol. Don't use alcohol constantly, because it can severely dry out the skin.
You can buy a daily face wash tube (try Clearasil) and use that during your morning shower...it helps!
You can ask a dermatologist for more info.
I also wrote a little tip thing, which you can find under General Questions in this link (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/announcement.php?f=18&a=60)
Good luck! :D

Ok, I'll copy the tips here.
I have acne/pimples. What's the best way to get rid of them?
The best way to prevent them and to get rid of them is to shower every day and clean your face with alcohol in the morning and at night.
If you have a few pimples, try popping them and immediately clean your face with alcohol.
If you've got a lot, try buying things like Clearasil or some other acne wash to wash your face with at the sink or in the shower.
For pimples that are way under your skin, don't try to pop them. Keep your skin clean and wait for them to go away.
For blackheads, try popping them and then wash your face immediately.
It's not much, but it's there.

If you've tried pretty much everything ...
And your mom is probably wrong, it doesn't matter how well you wash, the problem could be hormonal, in which case really no amount of washing etc is going to make them go away.
Perhaps see your doctor, who could refer you to a dermatologist, and you can get perscribed some medication which I think helps with something to do with (I'm not sure) oil production caused by hormones. :S
