I read this thread a while ago (Again), and came up with another thought or ideas

Find out a little bit about him: things he likes, places he goes a lot, stuff like that. Try doing a few of those things and going to a few of those places, that way when you talk to him, you'll have at least one thing in common to talk about. It'd be great if he comes up and talks to you, but sometimes you have to take the initiative! Once he sees that you've got a few things in common, he will take more interest in you, and then all you have to do is be yourself
