I've never heard of something like this, and I'm not sure how to describe it. Whenever I try to sleep, I become kind of anxious and my chest starts to hurt. Well, it's not "Pain", really, it feels like my chest is being crushed. I know, that doesn't make much sense. Same thing occurs when I think about it, like right now. It makes it difficult to sleep.
A more mild version of this happens when I stretch out my arm. I try not to do so.

Sounds like some kind of anxiety related thing? you can totally get physical symptoms from that. maybe look up some stuff on anxiety and panic attacks?

That's kind of vague.

What, my answer or your pain? Cuz there's not really much else i can add. Crushing feelings in your chest is (or can be) an anxiety related thing. What you said did make sense to me. i was suggesting you look up some information about anxiety so you can see its not so weird, its pretty common. (but you should probably see a doctor if you are worried about it)

Perhaps see a doctor about asthma? its quite normal for asthma to only happen at night. some tips, drink coffee take it black, and see if it gets better, if it does it could be asthma

While what you have described could be symptoms of a panic attack (the anxiety, the crushing feeling), are you sure this is related to mental stress or anxiety? Because a crushing feeling in your chest, especially if moving your arm is also causing this pain, could be a symptom of a ton of different physical ailments. The best thing to do is to talk to your doctor, because only they can help diagnose what you are experiencing and help you find a solution to alleviate your pain, be it physical or mental in origin. Best of luck to you :)

You most likely don't have a real mental problem, just a mild illness, check with a doctor. Possibly stress, paranoia or anxiety.
