For anyone in high school, does your school have a program for a freshman orientation? My school does and I'm curious to see if any of yours do.

Uh, well towards the beginning of 8th grade year they go to the high school to see the basic layout of the school. Other than that, no not really. The principal gives a little speech but he does that for every class.

Yeah, we toured the high school in 8th grade. In freshman year we had 2 day introduction and were assigned an older student to be our helper. It really worked out good.

Mine does, I think it's in about a week. They'll probably just show you around the school, go over schedules, classes, rules, etc...

Our school has a thing in 6th grade where they tak you to the high school and have you sit in the classrooms and walk through the halls when the bell rings and introduce you to how the lunch line works, then they have another orientation where the parents go and you see your locker and stuf, but for the freshmen year theres nothing.

Our first day will be freshman only, after that, it's all 4 grades.

Kind of. Kids going in as regular freshman just get to see the school and meet some teachers.
If the kids join an academy before entering, then the academies do their own separate orientations. When I went, we spent about four hours a week doing experiments, going on boats, meeting the teachers, ect. to really get a feel of the academy.

Yeah, Im a freshman now and we had orientation, and I think they might have it for 10th grade too. The reason why I say that is because our school system has a 9th grade campus, and then the main campus for 10th-12th. Both are two totally different schools. 9th grade used to be at the main campus, but they split it to cut back on the main campus being so crowded.

yeah, I'm gonna be a freshman in about 2 weeks, and there's this day where we tour the school, get our schedule, and we're assigned an older student. Also, we had this day in June where we followed a student around the school for one day to see what an average day is like.

I just had it a few days ago, they just told us what to expect, told us where our classes were, school pics, summer reading test, and just gettin to know your school and stuff. But it was a really easy transfer from grade school to high school, not that much difference other than more freedom and stuff. PM me if you have any more specific questions about anything and I'll try to get back as soon as possible.
