i used to be able to play it for hours. i got it when it was in alpha and it was the best back then. i loved it. but know it dosent have that same feeling anymore. I MISS ALPHA :(

The game itself isn't particularly good, to be fair, it's the community and the mods that have made it such a popular game. I find it very difficult to play vanilla Minecraft now, but playing custom maps and using mods like Tekkit/Technic pack greatly increases the life of the game for me.

You should give the Technic Pack a try, or Tekkit if you're online, it's an incredibly complex mod pack for Minecraft that basically makes the game machine-craft.

Gah. From everything I've heard the Xbox version is not a patch on the PC version, if you can then you should definitely get the PC/Mac version over Xbox. Plus you've got mod capability, texture packs, custom maps, varying servers, more up to date version etc.

Me! Love it! Check out the Tekkit and Technic mod pack (Google it) . It's great, I had lots of fun building Nuclear Reactors, Quantum Armour, Lasers, Engine, Macerators, Logistics Networks, Computers, Wires, Frames... You name it.

I got the Xbox edition for free from a friend back when it came out. I've recently started playing it again and I'm enjoying it. Still learning about loads of stuff. Although I don't love it enough to drop $26 on the PC version :P.

I really do miss the sheer wonder of beginning to play Minecraft. Minecraft used to be amazing for me. Now I think it needs a LOT of work and could use a load more end-game content. Rarer ores, diamond is just a joke. I think they should pay modders to use some of the more innocent mods (ones that aren't complete game-changers).

Right now, I can't get any amusement out of vanilla minecraft. I've been playing Technic though, and with it I have that similar zest for playing that I used to have like way back in BETA 1.3. No, I haven't played the new 1.3 yet, but it doesn't have enough new content to keep me interested so I'm waiting until all the Technic mods are updated. Suits me perfectly fine.

I did actually pick it up during the Steam Summer Sale and I have to say it kept me occupied longer (compared to my initial Minecraft obsession). It's more arcade-like but I really need a game with more rewarding achievements. Terraria at least has a couple more levels of gear upgrades and cool bosses and shit.

Reply to my previous post, I didn't just get the game, I used to have it for the PC. I decided to stop playing because I have gotten bored because of creative mode. Also EVERYONE at my school plays and it makes it no fun anymore...

Play it and love it. I started on the Beta 1.7, a year ago. I got addicted and I've made redstone elevators, doors, traps. Almost all you can think of.

For me its the drive to win the game that keeps me playing :) I'm too unlucky to find a end portal.
