forced to quit

my therapist today told me to give up my razors and lighter to my mom so i quit cutting and burning. i want to quit but not be forced to stop right away. i want to keeo the razors and lighters so i can work on things to eventually quit.

i dont know what to do.

also im afraid she''ll search my room for them but what if she sees all the other personal things i have

could you talk to your therapist about this? if it really bothers you, you shouldnt do it. plus it might make you more stressed out. it might help though, to give up a few. at least there will be less things to tempt you and your mom might not try and search youre room. sorry if i didnt help much, but feel free to pm me if you ever need to talk to someone.

burn everything. Don't throw em out. Go outside, fine a metal container, empty the lighter fuel (not too much) throw all your personal diary and notes and whatever paper and shit in it and watch it go up in flames. (it's kinda satisfying)

as for the razor blades, there pretty easy to hide. i use to hide them on me. tape them to the inner thigh of your leg. As for lighters, be creative...don't hide them in your room, hide them in someone else's room. Who's gonna search your bros/sis/parents room?

Yea I think you should confront your therapist. My parents forced me to stop and they freaked and they totally made my life worse. They forced me to do a lot of things and I got even more stressed as my privacy was taken away....3 years later I still do it and I've gotten he'll of a lot sneakier. I never got the chance to actually make my own decision
