The end of the remote control? Sky launches app that lets your iPad control your TV
Broadcaster lets users control their Sky+ box through an iPad
Users can change channels without having to find the remote
Will let users use Twitter and Facebook to share what they are watching

Sky has unveiled an iPad app that could finally mean the end of hunting for the TV remote.
It turns an iPad into a giant Sky remote, letting users change channels, record programmes and even rewind shows.
The system is also set to be upgraded with 'social TV' features to let users share what they are watching with friends.

Comcast has that. Either way remote control won't "end".

That's still a remote control, in a way.

It still is a remote control. Controlling the TV remotely. What a misleading article title. Though I must say, I wouldn't mind having this for myself. My family always lose the TV remote so I guess this would be pretty handy. Maybe if it in-cooperated some sort of voice recognition going, that would be pretty cool

Randomly adding voice recognition to stuff doesn't make it cooler. A remote control is the last thing that needs voice recognition.
