Take a look around in the other forums, what you may find just might surprise you:
*gasp* A thread about STD's right here (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=35760) in the VT general hospital!

Hope that helps. :P

Its just a name for a disease/infection when having sex with the person that carries it without protection... Be careful out there:P

But even with protection there are forms of STDs you can still get. Pubic Lice (a.k.a crabs) are just like head lice only they live in the pubic hair and even with a condom on if your pubic hair comes in contact with pubic lice they will infect your hair.

STD's are various sexually transmitted diseases. Some STD's are chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, HPV, syphilis, and trichomoniasis.

The CDC has the best database of information on this.

Sexually Transmitted Disease

It's short for Sexually Transmitted Disease, also known as an STI, or Sexually Transmitted Infection. Most have no symptoms and some are deadly if not treated. A few have no treatment. The top two ways to protect yourself are:

1) Abstinence. This means that neither you nor your partner have an STD/STI. If you don't cheat on you partner (and he/she doesn't cheat on you), then you have a 99.99% chance of NOT getting infected. Where that 0.01% comes from beats me.

2) Condoms. Wearing a condom is the next best thing to abstinence. In fact, it is the only method of birth control that is also effective against STDs/STIs. Condoms have about a 97% success rate.

Also, whoever gave me +rep, I don't know who you are, but thank you!
