haha good question... well all of my boxers have the elastic waistband, so if the problem "rises" i make it stand straight up and have the elastic waistband push it against my stomach and my pants and shirt do the extra concealing

Boners in public are embarrassing especially when swimming... but anyway your best option is to where boxer briefs. they are super comfortable and push your boner to a side so its not visible. And it doesn't hurt.

Try and be comfy - so that depends on whai I am wearing.

I like to wear shorts in summer but take a spare T shirt - tie round waist
