for some strange reason today i decided to shave my pubic hair again after i promised myself i wouldn't after the horrible itching last time. this is just a simple question - have you shaved your pubic hair???
Now, how do you go about shaving your pubic hair...
The best, and probably safest way to shave your pubic area is to trim the hair first. Trimming is important if you want to get a good shave. It will be easier to shave and take less time. You can use an electric trimmer or scissors. CAUTION: If you use scissors, be extremely careful. Trim your pubes quite short with the scissors or trimmer.
If you want to completely shave the area, use a lot of shaving cream. Make sure there is shaving cream wherever you make a razor stroke, that will help minimize itchiness when you are done. Another tip would be to try not get it all at one time. Shave the whole area once, then re-apply shaving cream and do it again. Do it as many times as you feel necessary. By using this method, your shave will be more smooth and a bit less itchy.

when you shave, any hair, it grows back, faster and more.
boognish
August 19th, 2007, 03:20 PM
that is a myth. it really doesnt. its just that when you shave you cut to the thicker end of the hair, and when it grows the thicker end is what grows, making it look thicker. faster is a relative term, it seems faster but that does not really mean anything

August 27th, 2007, 04:22 PM
Well, I do. If you are going to do it use scissors to trim them, otherwise you'll have some serious itching. Girls usually prefer it short and it makes you look bigger.

I know I'm too young to shave but could you shave your pubic hair? I heard you can do that but most people don't do it.
Trickster
August 28th, 2007, 08:07 PM
yeah you can no big deal. Some dont do it cuz it is a danger if you arent good with shavers cuz youre close to a tender area. Others dont cuz they like their hair and others dont cuz they see it as well being a man. If you want you can but be careful if you get hurt in that area it WILL hurt and could be permanat.
Serenity

Not necessarily. If you shave in the direction of growth it shouldn't hurt. And I've never in my life heard of any instance where shaving was permanent.

Yeah dude it itches! It's because the hair is growing. So it wouldn't make any difference to me.
ThatCanadianGuy
August 29th, 2007, 10:30 PM
DO NOT!!!!
I read on here that it was really bad when you shaved and that trimming with scissors was alot less uncomfortable. Well I have to tell you. IT ITCHES LIKE HELL!!!! I only TRIMMED it and it was aggrivating to move my body at all for about a week. If I had shaved I probably would have gone insane. But then again I think I went a little overboard and trimmed way too short.
And for those of you who trim instead of shave, how short do you trim it (at what length does it still not itch if you trim?)?
Serenity
August 29th, 2007, 10:33 PM
Shaving only itches if you let it grow out, meaning you have to consistently shave every couple of days. Like women with their legs :P

I shave and trim depends on my mood. It only really itches the first few times that you shave. Then after that your skin get tougher and used to you shaving.
Beside if you shave or trim your penis looks bigger.
I also shave my shaft, balls and crack once a week. I love the smoothe feeling of having my balls being shaved.

when you shave, any hair, it grows back, faster and more.
that's a myth...
hair grows in the shape of a cone. when you shve for the first few times, you take the tip off of that cone. therefore, the top of the hair is wider darker and overall more noticable. t doesnt grow back ''more,'' it grows backdarker appearing more. plus, once it does grow back, you hae been used to looking at a bare pubic area.

Yes I have shaved my pubic hair multiple times. I find the end result to be a lot more comfortable. Not physically but mentally. I hate having so much hair, drives me crazy. So I shave it and when most of it, if not all is off of me, I feel somewhat better. Besides, I don't have any bumps, or itching so its a win, win situation for me.
And as a reply to someones post, Just because you have a forest on your pubic area doesn't make you more manly.

from my perspective, i think it is easier to shave it and do it on a daily basis and usually it does itch when it comes back but it does not itch horribly. but with the private areas the hair grows back quicker than any other places.

Yeah, I have shaved and trimmed. Shaving it all off makes the area feel REALLY soft and smooth if you know how to shave without cutting yourself. However, It makes me look 12 again, so I'm not planning on shaving anymore.
And I trim frequently now, and am currently waiting for my pubes to grow a little longer so I can cut them all the same length.

I trim. I don't do it often though since it's not very noticable. I asked for an electric shaver for Christmas but didn't get it since this was said.
Me and Dad thought that it was a little bit early for you to shave. Maybe next year you'll get one
I don't mind. I mean I can see the point.

I've been shaving "down there" for about 6 months-ish now, mostly because I just don't like the look of the hair. After the first time I shaved I thought I'd made a huge mistake. I hadn't been able to get a clear view of the area since I was about 9, due to the hair, so it looked really weird to me, and it was a little scary how dramatic the difference is. I let it grow back in, and then decided to shave again and I've kept it up since.
Thanks. But how bad is it? Is it just like mildly annoying or is it constantly frustrating?
Some tips: Use hair conditioner as a substitute for shaving cream. I don't know why, but it seems to make the skin smoother, and cut back on the itch a bit. And try to rub some Neosporin on the skin directly afterwards. Rub in all different directions, with the grain, against the grain, in circles, whatever. This helps discourage ingrown hairs, and the moisture helps with itching too. In the end though, you just gotta decide if it's worth it for you or not.

seems like a split here, and with some people its fine, and with others its not. I shaved about 10-14 days ago, and already its grown back a fair bit, and it HASNT itched. To me, trimming is far worse. I did wet-shave though, with a razor, just very carefully (for obvious reasons lol)

One time I decided that I would trim because it was getting too itchy down there. It was a big mistake. I trimmed it so short that it would hurt when ever I would move. I liked the look of it, but it wasn't worth the pain. I'll probably do it again, but I won't trim nearly as short.

I've trimmed and shaved. I just shaved again a couple of weeks ago after I said I was never going to do it again. It didn't really itch to bad this time though.

before, I voted that I didn't shave or trim (male), but now I'm a female. Jk, im a guy, but now I've shaved it.
But it's not really shave shave, like with a razor or with a shaver or anything, I used one of those little buzz trimmer things, but got rid of as much as I could.
First time it itched a little, kind of annoying, but then after that never happened again. It's been growing back and I might trim it with scissors next to keep it short because I like less of it, or at least, shorter rather than more/longer

I shave most of it off and then trim the rest short.
As if being a red head wasn't bad enough
I just hate pubes.

i shaved a little on each side to see how fast it will grow back but its growing the same speed as my unshaved pubes, will i ever have uniform pubic hair again? at least i shave the same amount off on either side

Pubic hair reaches a point where it doesn't get any longer. Your pubic hair will even out again eventually, empar.

Why does it itch so bad?!
Really annoying..
I didnt really think about trimming/shaving.. i thought peeps at school were joking about,
but so many actually do :S
Its only really worth it if you are like 15 or over me thinks,
itched less the second time.. but geez!!

So far I haven't but I think I'll try just to feel how it is... Isn't shaving/trimming the balls is a little dangerous?
Requin
August 27th, 2008, 11:00 AM
Shaving the balls yes. But why would you want to shave your balls anyway?
Just don't.
I don't get all this, oh yes i've got to shave it, attitude young sprites just into puberty have.
You don't shave all your hair on your head on a whim do you?
Why? why? why?
Is it something that noobs just into puberty feel they have to do to prove that there cool?
Someone explain please!

Hey, I said I might try just out of curiosity, nothing else... And even if I will do it it will be just the part above the penis not the balls, I asked that just because it does sound dangerous.

I have to shave because we have to wear speedos when we compete at school events and water polo games. Not truly shave it all but trim the sides so hair is not seen. You should try...it does make my deek look bigger too...try it.

I haven't, because I don't know how.
Well if you look at some of the posts in this thread people will tell you how to shave.
Here is what I posted a while back.
1) It is important to trim your pubes real short. You can do this with scissors or clippers clippers work better for me. My suggestion is to trim really short first so you can decide if you really want to shave. If you trim, it won't itch while growing back.
2) Take a warm bath and shower. Apply shaving cream on the pubes and shave them off. Don't go over an area more than once. If you need to shave the area again reapply more shaving cream. This will keep the irritation down.
3) Rinse again with warm water. Check to see if you have any areas that need to be shaved again. If you do reapply shaving cream. It is important to not go over an area lots of time or it will cause an irritation.
4) Once you are done, I always use a towel and dab the area dry. After the area is dry I always apply rubbing alcohol to the area. It will stink at first but it will soothe in a couple of minutes. I do this every time I shower for the next few days and I don't have that much trouble with itching like everyone else complains about.
Well good luck I hope these tips work for you.

If you shave it often enough, you will finally get used to it and won't feel the itch!I'm 13, and after 2-3 weeks of shaving I no longer feel the itch! LOL!

also, if you shave efficiently, with a proper method (like warming the skin up and using shaving cream etc..) you can avoid shave burn and the itchyness ;)

I trim my pubic hair, but I've never shaved it all the way off. When I don't, I have quite a bit of hair, and it always gets in the way -- so I shave it.
