if a tampon is inserted deep enough, you shouldn't really be able to feel it. at the begining it feels a little awkward, especially if you dont put it in deep enough. Cuz it kind of hurts if you dont put it in correctly/all the way.

Its a lot more comfortable then a pad though :P

It's pretty deep, and it's only uncomfortable if it's too close to the opening. Some girls find that the tampon acts like a huge prostate and makes peeing really fucking hard. But it's a ton more comfy than a pad.
