The Facebook camera that can recognise you every time you walk into a shop
Could be used by shops to offer discounts to customers
System already being trialled in Nashville shops and bars
Users must sign up to take part and 'teach' system what they look like

Shoppers could soon be automatically recognised when they walk into a shop using a controversial new camera.
Called Facedeals, the camera uses photos uploaded to Facebook to recognise people as they walk in.
Shoppers who agree to use the system, which has not been developed with Facebook, will be offered special deals.

They need to make one for Foursquare. I don't have a smartphone so I have to check in through a browser, and you can't earn mayorships that way. If Foursquare could automatically check in for me it would save me the hassle of waiting forever for Foursquare to load on my phone (no 3G for me), taking three tries to enter the password (which it never remembers even though I check the Remember box) and then still not qualifying for mayorships.

I would refuse to go to stores that use that, because Facebook will not only "give deals" to those that agree, but also those that don't. Plus, this is more information -- now they know exactly where's you've been, too!
There are many third parties that are most interested in that information, and Facebook is happy to sell them that.
