Where do you guys stand on wearing band shirts? I work at a shop that sells records, so I am lucky enough to be able to wear band shirts every day. That means 90% of my wardrobe consists of T-shirts, of which almost 100% are shirts from my favorite bands.

Do you wear band shirts?
Do you prefer simple ones with just like, the band name or a small graphic
or do you like big F off prints like this one http://www.rockworldeast.com/store/Bands,Iron_Maiden/Iron_Maiden_T-Shirt_Aces_High_All_Over_Print

I like wearing band clothing in general,a lot of my wardrobe is band clothing...
BUT!only if the person LIKES THE BAND,I really hate when people wear for example Stones t-shirts and are like "who's Mick Jagger?"

I wear band shirts all the time. I make sure it's a band I like too, not just one that has a cool logo or anything. :P

Most of my t-shirts are band ones too, except I got told my 'Hey Ho Let's Go' shirt isn't appropriate to wear to school events! I am a bit fussy though. I don't really like shirts with the classic metal designs, like the Iron Maiden one. I got a couple of cool Coheed and Cambria shirts recently though with just an emblem on the chest.

I wear band shirts all the time, but like Ian said, ONLY IF YOU KNOW THE BAND. I've seen guys in Ramones shirts who couldn't name one of their songs, and a guy in an offspring shirt who didn't realize it was even a band.

As for the small vs flashy debate, I really think it depends on the particular shirt. I prefer the small ones though, because I can cut them up :D

I love to wear band shirts. And just like you said, only if i know and love the band. Too bad so many people wear them even if they don't know who they are. For example one girl in my school wears The Beatles shirt, and when I asked her which songs she likes the most she replied "well the popular ones. but i wear it because it looks cool" like, i don't want to live on this planet anymore.

I can defiantly identify with this. A lot of my friends dont know squat about the bands on the shirts that I wear and they still try to "borrow" my clothes so they can look "cool"

I always buy a band shirt when I go to concerts (and usually only when I go to concerts depending). I don't typically dress that casually though, so I usually only wear them to... well, concerts, or around the flat.

So what is the opinion of people who buy the bootleg t-shirts from outside the concerts?

I've never seen bootleg shirts being sold outside of a concert. The only thing I see being sold are obviously fake/ridiculously expensive tickets being sold by seemingly homeless men.

This is my newest band shirt. Flogging Molly is top 5 for me.
I like this shirt, but im confused about the separation of the logo, it looks like they
decided to reposition the anchor last minute

I'm still into it

Maybe it's just something that happens in Australia. Here the t-shirts at concerts are $35 at the cheapest, and I've heard of them going for $70 at the arena shows. But there's always the guy outside selling knock offs at the big shows, usually asking $20, but you can argue them down to $10. ;-)

Interesting. I live in the US and every concert I've been to, shirts are always $40 and nothing else, as if it's a rule or something. I did travel to Ireland for 2 concerts last year an I'm pretty sure my shirt cost 30 euros, which I think at the time was roughly $45 in USD. $70 at arena shows is absolutely ridiculous, though.

I prefer the ones with simple words or designs with a small band logo on the back. Usually what I'd wear is found here: https://www.merchline.com/reach/category.694.c.php

They're usually around $15 at concerts.

I love wearing band shirts, it makes it easy to start a conversation with someone if they're wearing a shirt of a band you like. However, waaaaaaay too many people have band shirts for The Ramones, KISS, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, etc. who couldn't name one song/album/band member. Most of them just see the shirt in Hot Topic and say, 'hey, that looks cool'. I can assure you, that is not cool. And as for buying shirts at stores vs buying them at shows, I'd love to buy shirts at shows but I've never seen shirts at concerts for under $30. That much for a t-shirt? Hell no. The only exception I've seen is at Warped where I got a Lostprophets shirt for $15 or $20. And you better bet I know their music!

I'd rather support my favorite band t-shirts by buying their cds and albums than buying some 50-100$ DC, rockstar energy, monster w/e t-shirts..

avg band t-shirt here costs some 19$

I LOVE BAND T-SHIRTS. I have 5. 1. Of Mice & Men that I got at Warped Tour 2012.C:
2.A Day To Remember.
3.Bullet For My Valentine.
4.Black Veil Brides.(Old.)
5. Nirvana.
I like band t-shirts so much because they express to everyone my type of music and what I love. Just by looking at me you could never tell. I am a total girly girl who loves the color pink and bright make up. And if you aren't into the same type of this music you think it's just for 'Emo' kids. Which isn't true. so they let everyone know what I like.(:

2 Papa Roach shirts, Rise against shirt and hoody and a lostprophets shirt I got at their gig last night.

I have quite a few. Um, Paramore, 2 ICP shirts, Yes, My Chemical Romance, Three Days Grace, Avenged Sevenfold hoodie, Red hot Chili Peppers, The Ramones and Rush. I lost 2 of those and gave 2 back to my brother though :(

I don't have a preference on style. I have a couple that have big designs, some that are just logos across the chest. One of the ICP shirts just has hatchet men all over it. I'm not picky. I do prefer black ones though.
