Watching alot of gay themed movies online like thru Youtube I came across alot of very sad and weird movies that were depressing. I also found some that were inspiring and gave me hope and made me happy.
I have two questions, 1.) what is ur favorite gay movie? (if you've ever watched one..) and 2.) Why?
Mine is Prayers for Bobby

Prayers for Bobby sounds like a good one from what I read on Wikipedia, albeit a little corny. I don't watch a lot of movies (gay or otherwise) because I'm not really allowed to watch movies in a theatre or at home and it's getting harder to find them online.

Brokeback Mountain is an awesome movie, but it's more sad than anything else.

Beautiful Thing is my favorite. The acting is great and so is the storyline.

I also like Mysterious Skin and Latter Days. You can find those on YouTube as well.

I can't say I've seen any, unless The Punisher counts (that one scene where the gay character is revealed.) They seem interesting though.

I've never seen a gay movie, and Idk why but I don't really want to. I feel like they all must be super stereotypical and I feel like I wouldn't be able to relate at all.

My favorite LGBT movies would be Latter Days, No Regrets (a Korean movie), Get Real, and Brokeback Mountain. Latter Days and Get Real are more upbeat, while No Regrets and Brokeback Mountain are depressing. I like them because they have pretty good plot lines.
A good short film is Dare (not the full-length remake of it) and the Best Man.

ummm A beautiful thing-it's really nice and interesting. i loved the ending
uhhhh i can't remember.
oh yeah Get real-one of my favs. that "straight" guy is so hot.
I love the sad movies that end happy.
Personally, I was never fond of Prayers for Bobby. to me it seemed stupid but I accept everyone else's opinion.
Also Dream Boy is a nice one. But i wish it didn't end that way.

Gay movies always seem to have a sad ending, so I hate watching them. Latter Days, Get Real, Road Trip, Mysterious Skin, Shelter, and Beautiful Thing. Beautiful Thing, Shelter, and Latter days have great endings (especially the dance in Beautiful Thing) so I have to love them. Get Real is bittersweet to me. Road Trip ending too suddenly, but is one of my favorites. Mysterious Skin is too close to home sometimes, but it is an amazing movie.
I wish there were more gay movies with happy endings.

Maybe it's just me, but I like a good movie with a sad endings. It portrays real-life better, where there are not always happy endings. So, honestly, it's more of a reality check. And anyway, there's always hope for the characters at the end (unless they're all dead, of course). I really adored Brokeback Mountain, and it was probably my favorite gay-themed movie. The acting was amazing and they played such believable roles. Others I like are Summer Storm, Beautiful Thing, Shelter, For a Lost Soldier, Lucky Blue and Raw Love.

>.> Hmm I watched some movie on Netflix called The Mudge Boy. I was hoping for a sweet, teen romance story but there was rape and crossdressing and animal murder, so it was -very- depressing but still an excellent movie.

I haven't actually seen any. Assuming when we say gay we're not meaning gay in a broad sense but gay as in guy and guy. I've seen a LOAD of lesbian films though. XD
Oh wait, RENT counts? I didn't really think about it because it isn't the EXACT central focus. Okay then, RENT.

Most of them aren't, surprisingly.
1) Out of the few I've watched, Christopher and His Kind.
2) I love the period it's set in (1930s Berlin), and a lot of the characters were just fascinating; Jean Ross was my favourite!
