Alright, so I was Google-ing something for my game when all of a sudden I get all these alerts that my computer was infect(fake shit), and it didn't give me an option to not install it, it just installed on its own and now I cannot find a way to remove it without money; the program is called Security Shield any ideas in how to get rid of this?

*I'm gonna have this locked but if anyone can think of any other ideas feel free to PM me.*

Can you do a system restore to an earlier date?

Follow these (http://malwaretips.com/blogs/security-shield-virus/) instructions if no success.
I know it's pretty long and tedious, but give it a go.

That virus is a pain in the a**. I got it a while ago. System restore doesnt take care of it. Eventually it will disable ure machine. Spend the money NOW and take it to a compueter tech! Whatever u do .....DO NOT give them a credit card #!!!!!!

Well I got to the second step and my compute did not like the program and refused to install it, so I'm back to square one.

Just wipe your Hard Drive unless you have a lot of stuff you need to keep.

Step two, isn't that just disabling the proxy?

Did you try going to this link (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill) from the article, and downloading a different version?

You're all being stupid. Ok, first of, you need to reboot to safe mode with networking. Just restart your computer and press F8, F9 or F11 at boot menu. (If you dunno, press all of them) You should get a black screen with white writing. Use the arrow key to highight "Safe mode with networking" (Those dont need to be the exact words but it should mention safe mode and it should mention networking. Ok, once your done. Go to this site. And download this free software. Here's a direct link. http://software-files-a.cnet.com/s/software/12/64/24/02/mbam-setup-1.62.0.1300.exe?token=1344925767_f526dd9c1ca5d36332a19e50d349f930&lop=link&ptype=3001&ontid=8022&siteId=4&edId=3&spi=de0a5546efdcd2ac5f12f1a1073c4de3&pid=12642402&psid=10804572&&fileName=mbam-setup-1.62.0.1300.exe

So while still in safe mode, you're gonna install that, and run a quick scan. It should take like 8 minutes. Wait for it until it's done. Then remove threat. And you're good to go. Reboot and start windows normally. (dont f8.f9.f11)

follow the guide that the user above post but used the link for software instead of that one. this one is more trusted.

I'll save that for a last effort thing, I might bring it to my cousin who is good with computers

Try it, gotten pay for the scanner thing they offer, but thanks.

~update~ I was able to delete it thanks from a few links from my cousin but now its slow as can be, it won't connect to the internet, audio isn't working and I can't remove any programs via uninstall....ugh....fml.

You could still be infected. You shouldn't be paying for any scanner to be honest. Open up cmd and try to ping to google. type 'ping -c3 google.com' into command prompt. If it returns something that means you're connected. If not, ping to your router. most of them are 192.168.1.1 but your's could be different.

you'll have to check msconfig. Go to run and type in msconfig. Search for strange looking .dll files that don't belong or that don't seem to belong. Web search the name of it and if it is a virus then delete it. If you can't delete anything. Go back into safe mode with networking and try it in there. run malewarebyte scan and this time run a full scan.

audio not working is strange...virus coders tend not to care about bothering the audio. Worst case scenario, you got RATed (Remote administrative trojan/tools).

As a precaution, fine a clean computer and change all you're passwords for your accounts.
