I have all of those on VHS, and I still love them, except Batman & Robin. I want to punch George Clooney.

Batman and Batman Returns are at least on bar with Batman Begins. Batman Forever is meh, definitely not good, but not terrible. Batman and Robin is one of the shittiest movies ever made.
However, you neglect to mention the best Batman media to come out of the nineties which is Batman TAS. Incidentally it also had two of the best Batman Movies in Mask of the Phantasm and Subzero.

Honestly, it depends on what mood I'm in. The movies by all three directors have completely different feels to them.
I don't like Joel Schumacher's films anymore, but back when they came out I liked them a lot - now they seem too kiddy.
Tim Burton is just awesome sauce and his movies do have a certain charm; they're serious but also not too serious at the same time. I loved Jack Nicholson as the Joker and um whoever played Catwoman in Batman Returns. I also loved the design and feel of Gotham City and Bruce's House in the Burton films because it was much more theatrical than the newer movies.
That said, Nolan's movies have probably the best acting and make things much more serious and 'real-life', or at least try to. The first two movies he made are classics, the third one was a bit of a messy letdown for me, but I still would say that Bale was the best Batman.
So for me it's Burton = Nolan > Schumaker.

while batman and robins my least favourite, i still like it, how can you not love mr freeze. i didnt have much of a problem with george clooney, i prefer him to val kilmer.

as much as i like nolans works, one the main let downs for me is bale, i really dont like him as batman. i like him as an actor but i think he does a poor job as batman. i think he portrays him wrong and doesnt really act like batman would, and the biggest thing is his voice, i cant stand his batman voice.
i think nolans attempt at making it more reallife, took away from it. the older ones felt like a comicbook, and had some of those querks only a comicbook hero could. also, while nolan certainly has some great acting in his movies, im very endeared to the starstudded casting of the 90s, you just cant beat those flashy villian protrayals.

If you ask me, I prefer the Nolan ones not because they're newer, flashier, not on VHS or whatever. They bring a realism to the series. Anything that happened in Nolan's Batman trilogy very well could happen. Nothing was out of the realm of possibility. Also the fact that it was a dark throughout the trilogy, making you feel as if you were in the tragedy.
I believe that Bale did a phenomenal job as Batman. Sure, he was more serious than any other form of Batman, but that was the whole thing with the trilogy; it was a for a more mature audience.

I like things real and life like, so I was happy with what Nolan did with the franchise and I thought it was a welcome change to the sillier batmans of the past. Bale seemed like everything batman/bruce should be: tough, but also really complicated/tortured and compassionate too. But I totally agree with you about the voice, at times that was pretty ridiculous haha
