Okay we all know my iMac is really old, and I don't have much of a choice than to upgrade it instead of spending a vortune on a new Macbook or gaming PC.

So I'm going to get $40 from my mom for watching my sister while she is at work. and I'm getting an allowance too which helps. m question is, which should I buy first. I have a DVD player so a DVD slot drive isn't needed untill I start making backups of files.

Please note that i don't know what I'll be getting for an allowance as of yet.

I'm trying to decided between
-2x 512mb ram cards ( my current 64 mb of ram is going bad, I also don;t know what type to get)
-DVD slot drive (I have a DVD player to watch movies)
-New Powerboard with more powerful CPU (400mhz can serve my purpouses, but where can i get one?)

also if someone can tell me what to look for as for that would be great.

The iMac G3 (at least the model which you have):
Has a custom motherboard, and runs on the PPC platform, so if you have any chance at all, it would have to be a mini one.
If you don't upgrade the MB, however, the Memory and DVD upgrades should work.

i know it uses a custom mother boad, but you coud have gotten these with a cpu with 600 mz at the most i just want to know where I can get a more powerful motherboard.

It's okay. if I sounded irritated in that reply I wasn't exactly myself.
My mind was in fail-safe mode because an anime scarred me, not saying which anime though.

Oh no no, it's fine :P

I just am not very familiar with the G3 hardware because i've never owned/needed to service one
