I sit by the window late at night
Staring into the darkness

What was once had has disappeared

Thanks. The reason for the lack of rhyming is a simple one; it isn't needed. Rhyming can add to certain songs and take away from others and the way this song was wrote I felt it didn't so much need to have rhymes but rather tell a story. :)
