Only real iFans need apply: The original, unopened iPhone on sale for $10,000
The first iPhone doesn't have 3G and won't be compatible with today's apps
Thousands may have queued for the iPhone when it first went of sale, with most unable to wait until they left the shop before ripping the packaging open.
However, one enterprising owner was able to resist - and is now selling his unopened iPhone on eBay for $10,000.
The iconic handset first went on sale in the US in 2007 for $599.
But eBay seller Samsonbible thought twice and is now hoping to sell it for more than 15x the original RRP.
It could be argued that the iPhone revolutionised the mobile phone market and gave birth to the 'app', while helping to make Apple the most valuable technology company on the planet.
But more importantly, it made us think differently about how phones should operate.

If this person waited longer, and I mean, a lot longer, they might have actually got a chance. I mean, the fact they are still making iPhones, with only added features, not removed features shows that people will obviously get the newer version of this. The fact this person has dared to use the word 'vintage' indicates that this is "from another time", yet it was only released 5 years ago.

That's nuts! I'd never pay that much even if I had a million dollars to waste on something stupid.

Really? It won't be worth ten stacks in our lifetimes. Sure it's the smartphone pioneer, but I say no.

Just because it's up for sale for that, doesn't mean it will sell for that..

what a greedy idiot. First of all, like i think I saw someone say above, if he waited maybe 15 to 20 years, you could scoop that up on some hopeless fan boy. But the phone would be useless by that time, seeing as how phones continue to change and develop new things every 6 months it seems. Leaving the "older" phones into the Obsolete bin and people to buy the latest and greatest. He's an idiot.

Exactly. Maybe in 20 years, but definitely not now.

This. It's still supported by Apple, so i'm not paying 10k for a crappy phone that is still "modern".

This is hardly a collectible now, and not worth near $10k. I feel bad for whoever buys this.

Maybe a museum will want it in 100 years.
