I don't have to have a Blackberry to know what BBM is, and that you have to have the person's contact information(BBID) to message them on BBM.
How about we just let me do my job, by reminding people in a messenger thread not to share contact information, instead of commenting on whether or not I actually have the device in question?
Ok? Thanks.

That's not correct. BBM identifies devices with a PIN, which is a serial number assigned to each Blackberry device. A serial number is not contact information.

The thread is asking who uses Blackberry Messenger. To message people. When you give out your BBM, you are giving out information for people to contact you. It's against the rules to give out your BBM, he was just giving a warning so nobody gets in trouble. Leave it.

I used to use BlackBerry messenger, but not anymore, simply because you are restricted to contacting people only on BlackBerry, and that in the UK there is an extra £5 charge for it. However, other messengers such as Touch (formerly PingChat) and Kik messenger can do this for free, and they both support cross-compatibility between iOS and Android too, which is why i prefer them.

Used to have one, and I know my my mom uses one for work, but I never really used the messenger feature when I had one.
