So he offered the 4 foot tank with the decor light and food for 60 bucks. this is a great deal and i was wondering how can i ask/persuade my mom to say yes? i mean im responsible andd good i did great in school i just am nervous of how to ask? any suggestions?:what:

Just be straight up about it. Beating around the bush (as in not going straight to the point; being all mom you look great today, don't you love animals, bla bla bla) won't get you anywhere, will probably piss her off, and will make her more likely to say no.

Maybe if you offer to pay for part of the 60 bucks, and make sure she knows that you'll be the one taking care of it, and not her. If you're responsible with the other pets you have, she'll be more likely to say yes to this.

But yeah. Just tell her 'Mom, ____ wants to know if I'd like to buy his chinese water dragon. He's willing to sell me the cage and food and the lamp for 60 bucks, which is really a good deal. I promise I'll be the one to take care of it.' Something along those lines.

Good luck. <3

I don't like asking questions either, but the same way I got my Ball Python last year was just simply sit in my room for a night and think of how I was going to say it, and the next day I simply said "Mom, Dad, I was wondering, can I get a snake, I'll take care of it's feedings, and it's water, and heat, everything needed for it!" It took about a week and my mom and dad both said "Sure, blah blah blah." But think about it this way, can you afford a random 500 dollar vet bill? Animals have a lot more care underneath the easy stuff, good luck!

If you want to be the one to take care of it, and are paying for it, ten I don't see the harm in trying.

I agree with most of the guys above ↑ you should ask her, and when doing it u should include the fact that your friend will no longer be able to take care of it.

This is some kind of lizard, right? Aren't moms usually squeamish about this sort of thing? I can just picture the look on MY mom's face if I asked her if I could keep a lizard in my room.
