At the start of summer I wieghed about 97 pound and was around five foot five.I'm 14.I wiegh almost 102 now because I have ate ALOT over the summer to gain some wieght. I have a really lazy unactive life style aswell. Anyways I have two questions/concerns.Am I under wieght? How can I gain more wieght (I can almost garantee that I will lose wieght when school starts due to stress and lack of time to eat as much as I do usually)?

If you find your BMI you can work out if you're underweight (this (http://pediatrics.about.com/cs/usefultools/l/bl_bmi_calc.htm) is a good site) using this (http://pediatrics.about.com/library/growth_charts/nboysbmi.htm) chart because the adult ones aren't as accurate for our age group since we're still growing. I typed in your information and you have a BMI of 17.5 and you're in the 18th percentile which means you're a normal weight. When you drop below the 5th percentile, that's when you're considered underweight. However as you get older, taller and hopefully heavier, this changes so it might be an idea to keep track of it.
You probably just have a fast metabolism. If you carry snacks in your bag then you're more likely to eat them, so that might be an idea when you're at school. You have to, in some ways, force yourself to eat and then hopefully, it will become routine. It's good that you recognise that you're lazy :P How about taking up a sport? Are there any activities you enjoy? It's always good to do something and it will keep you fit, exercise also does wonders for stress. Just eat healthily and you should be good to go. It's nothing to be worried about. All my life I've been dodging in and out of underweight but if you just keep active and do something about it, then that's what matters. If you have any queries or worries though, then going to a doctor can also provide you with information.
Edit: When you were 97lb you were in the 8th percentile, so still not underweight, but close.

Thank you nikki!! It never really bothered me until people started asking why I'm so small and skinny. Its good to know that I'm not underwieght.

That's okay, glad I could give you some sort of information. Yeah, they do that but as you get older you should start to see that everything works itself out and you'll move away from being close to the underweight mark. Don't let what they say bother you, in a few years you'll probably look completely different.

if you want to gain weight, like make the number go higher then work on muscle, lift weights etc. dont do running often. if you want to look bigger then drink plently of milk will make your bones stronger and thicker(depending on how weak your bones are atm) i would just keep working out i suppose and ueat thing with protein. to hell with protein shakes they dont do anything. peanut butter is great w/ celery is a good snack. just keep brainstorming and doing research, best of luck.

Eat well and you must eat healthy foods so you can gain nutrients. You can also take vitamins and some food supplements.

Like Alliegator said: not too much cardio exercise, but more weight lifting exercises to build muscle. Don't use weights that are too light because that will decrease your muscle size. Rather use weights such that you can only just manage 3 sets (with short breaks inbetween) of 8 or so reps.
But if you fail to take your muscle- food/protein supplement, your muscles will just waste away.
Finally, if you really want to slow down your metabolism, rather eat 2 or 3 large meals a day rather than 20 little snacks. If you speed up your metabolism further, you'll lose weight just by sitting there.
