Don't worry, it doesn't hurt. The only thing that hurts is the novocaine shot, but the normally numb you a little bit with jelly before they give you the shot. It's really not bad. good luck :)

No it doesn't hurt...you'll be fine. If you're nervous, just tell your dentist beforehand, and they'll do everything they can to make sure it goes smoothly.

It doesn't hurt at all. I'd rather see a dentist than a doctor any day.

I wouldn't say it hurts, since they numb your mouth.

My biggest problem is the noise of the tools and such. I'll recommend to you doing what my dentist told me: bring an ipod or something and earbuds/headphones and put it in while they're working. it'll distract you and might make you feel better even.

good luck. <3

I've had a cavity fiiled, it dosn't hurt at all, they give you this numbing gas that relaxes you so pain dosn't feel painful but odd. then they fill it, maybe put a cap on, then they wll discharge your from the clinic and your good to go, despite you may seem drunk to a few people.

I hate doctors and dentists also but it isn't too bad even though I'm nervous during whole thing. They numb everything before they fill the cavity so you don't really feel much. Worse at doctors than dentists.

Go to a dentist that does nitrous. They give it to the kids so they will be compliant but they typically do it on most kids anyway (I think it may be a little extra, but it's worth it). All you want to do is lay there and stare at the ceiling! It's difficult to NOT want to get a cavity if you go to a adolescent dentist who gives you nitrous! It's like "Oh... I have to go get a cavity filled and not be able to eat anything solid for three hours while I can't feel my mouth... Oh but I can get high too!" Bring an iPod with a playlist of the most dreamy music you own and enjoy.

Then get a milkshake afterward and make your mum laugh when you drool it down your neck and you have no clue because you can't feel your face from the novocaine.

Well, I have had a cavity filled without novocaine, and that hurt. Dude, as long as you have the shot, or some painkillers, I doubt you'll feel it 'till after. And then, just eat something soft and/or cold. Perfect excuse for ICE CREAM!

Yeah, it doesn't hurt at all, and the gas is really fun!

No not at all, the only thing that could possibly hurt is the novicane shot, and the needle is super tiny and ur numed so u won't feel much of anything

If anything like that would hurt, wouldn't you think they would making hard to feel pain?

Go to a dentist that does nitrous.
I'm sorry, what? Nitrous is incredibly poisonous and will kill anyone who inhales it. So you basically told him to kill himself.
