Depends on the situation.

If the ex really loved you and you broke it off, no way is it ok.

If the best friend had been making passes at you the entire relationship you had with your ex, no way.

If the ex hates your guts, that a maybe.

If you both left on goo terms and really don't care about each other, go ahead!

I'm guessing it's a no because when I talk to the girl I like my ex says to her that she hates that I'm talking to her so I think I shouldnt just mainly out of respect so yeah. I think if I still have feelings for her after a month or so maybe
