how do you set up timed shooting (time lapse) on a Canon Rebel t2i? anyone know?

To do timelapse's with the t2i you need an intervalometer.

How much do those cost? Any particular brand/model you recommend? (Sorry, i've just never heard of those. :P)

You can get them for as little as $15 or you can get more expensive ones for $100+, I don't have any canon gear so I don't know what brands would be good however if you search amazon for "t2i intervalometer" there's plenty available, just read the reviews about them.

You can also have a go with Magic Lantern (http://magiclantern.wikia.com), which brings functions to do timelapse photography to your camera. For free. :)
