Poison Ivy

Ok, so yesterday i noticed i got poison ivy on my face. I thought "wow, what could suck more then this". But now im noticing it on my groin! And so my question is, has this ever happened to anyone here? And is it possible to j/o with it?

I'd be super careful. Can probably get a steroid cream from doctor if it's really bad and painful.

Never happened to me, but no I would not recommend j/oing with that. I know you have to wash it first in order to get the poison stuff off, but I would just take some time off from that area lol.

I have, cause I got the poison powder from the ivy on my hands and just barely scratched my groin and it started to itch. Didn't stop for couple of weeks :(

anything you touch on your body will get it the only thing I know of is Calimine lotion if its real bad you'll have to go see a doctor

I got prescription stuff for it cause i had it all over my body. Its going away though and its tolerable now. The worst part is i have a dark tan, and i noticed tha it takes off the tan so now were ever the poison ivy was, i dont have a tan. It looks weird

Last week I noticed a few red spots on my skin and didn't know what they were. A few days later it went from two dots to the size of a deck of cards. At the same time I noticed a couple of spots under my right armpit and thought oh no it's spreading and it's poison ivy.

A few days prior to that I was doing some yard clean up and think that's where I got it from. I did have on jeans and gloves. To your point though, the deck of cards size spot is at the bottom end of where the left hand jean from pocket is towards my groin. About 2" from my scrot.

I've been incredibly paranoid and careful not to spread it ever since. Took only cool showers and sat around trying not to sweat at all for one day so it wouldn't spread. That worked, it quit spreading. I'm so thankful.

I now remember trying to untwist a sprayer and was crouched over trying to get it to break free, but I don't remember ever seeing any poison ivy. My dad showed me some pics on the internet of people who were using a weed wacker while wearing shorts and their legs and bodies looked blistered and painful. Ever since seeing that, I wear jeans and gloves and I'm guessing that saved me from being covered in it.

I live in Georgia, so wearing jeans in the summer while doing yard work is really uncomfortable, but after seeing those pics, I do it anyway. Anyone here might want to google it.

Just to clear some things up:

You CANNOT spread poison ivy throughout the body by scratching. Nice theory, though. It only seems like it was spread due to either repetitive contact with contaminated objects or oil that was trapped under fingernails. If blister form and break, the fluid will not further the rash. Sweating won't spread it either. Don't scratch the blisters. You don't want a skin infection along with a poison ivy one.

I'm glad you were prescribed medicine. That was going to be my recommendation to you. Just stick with it and the rash should dissipate soon. If it gets worse or covers more than 1/4th of your body, take another trip to the doctor. It's your call if you want to keep masturbating while having this. I couldn't find any literature regarding it.

In the future, just wear long sleeves, pants, and gloves while working outside. It know, it's a bother, but you'll thank me later. Wash pets if you may have come in contact with them. You can develop another infection later on if you come into contact with contaminated pets or other surfaces. Lastly, WASH AFFECTED AREAS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE WITH COOL WATER IF YOU MAY HAVE COME IN CONTACT WITH POISON IVY.

wash the area that has it with soap and water so it dosent spread then just put hydrocortisone cream on it and that will take away the burn and itch a bit.
