Punk?

Do you guys like are into punk? I absolutely love it. My favorite bands are Sex Pistols, 88 Fingers Louie, The Addicts and The Exploited. What are your favorite bands/songs?

I don't really know what counts as punk, but my favorite bands are Say Anything, Taking Back Sunday, Pierce The Veil, Foxy Shazam, The Strokes and City And Colour.

To be honest, I think punk is the cancer of the music industry with it's basic formula - 3 power chords and poor vocalist - however, each one to their own, a lot of people like it and I respect that :)

Perhaps it is not "true"punk, but it is grunge, which is a derivative form of punk.

I like the Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Ramones, The Exploited (a lot of "the"s) early Blondie, Patti Smith, Dead Kennedys, Circle Jerks, Minor Threat etc.

Ya I agree :) I love Punk :) Sex Pistols, Ramones, The Clash, Dead Kennedys, Big D and The Kids Table (The last one is Ska-punk put still...)

Punk is awesome. People get way too hung up on what's punk and what isn't though. I'd call The Sex Pistols punk, and I'd call Green Day punk.

I don't really listen to pure punk. I listen to pop-punk and post-hardcore more often. The only band I listen to that gets classified as punk ever is Rise Against.

Rage against the machines is NOT punk.
And I will argue that nirvana is punk. Kurt Cobain considered the band punk and grunge is just the name that major labels used to describe the "seattle sound".Which is also punk rock. :)
