I know if I say money is no factor you'd choose the Lexus LFA because it's marginally faster and not many exist. So let's say that you have the money for both, but consider strongly the fact that you can buy 4 base Audi R8s or 3 fully equipped for the same price as one LFA, which is only up a few tenths of a second on 0-60 and a top speed of like +3 mph.
Which would you rather have?
Fuck Lexus, Lexus drivers are giant cockwads and smart people don't buy Japanese "luxury" shit like that. Infiniti is an exception, Lexus is just an overpriced Lincoln for richboy 16-year-olds that live on daddy's paycheck.
So I choose R8 baby. I'd never be caught dead in a Lexus.
Also, anyone notice that the LFA is a carbon copy of the R8? Lexus has that commercial that says how they're the amazing company that comes up with original designs. It's lol.
Here's a comparison of Lexus vs some other cars that existed long before them.

My parents have owned three Lexus'. I'd presume you've never owned one, so I'll tell you why "richboy 16-year-olds that live on daddy's paycheck" drive them.
First of all, build quality. Of the three we've had, we have NEVER had any issues with Lexus that haven't had an outside cause (ie. once the front bumper was scraped at the dealer).
Second, service. The Lexus dealer in our area are brilliant, they're old fashioned customer-knows-best servicemen. When our cars needed a service, they would drive to our house in a demonstrator of the same model (or in some cases a car we asked to have as we were looking at upgrading), pick up our car, take it to the dealer, service it, and then bring the car back to us. They always used the valet mode whenever driving it (3500rpm 110kph/70mph limit) and never abused it. When the front was scraped at the dealer, they replaced the front lip that same day, no charge, and let us know with a letter apologizing for the incident, and accepting responsibility.
Finally, the engineering is brilliant. Lexus are a branch of Toyota, and everything from gearboxes, to motors to interior features were always top notch in the ones we've had.
The LFA is not a carbon copy. First of all, it's a completely different drivetrain, RWD as opposed to AWD. Secondly, the V10 in the LFA revs higher than Audi's Lambo derived V10 (presumably a better variation of variable valve timing, as Toyota's VVTi is one of the better systems out there with Honda's VTEC), and when we mention handling, the Audi wouldn't see which way the LFA went.
Sorry about the rant, you're entitled to your opinion, however there are ways of presenting them without resorting to petty name calling and unfound statements.
On a final note, I can't speak for the Infiniti/Lexus comparison (Infiniti aren't available in Australia, they are coming in at the end of this year though) however, the Lexus LX570's previous models have been around much longer than the Mercedes GL range. The GL Range was introduced sometime around 2007-8 I believe, whereas Lexus have been making the LX range (basically an upper class Land Cruiser) since the 90's. Also, a more comparative GL would be the GL550, as the LX570 has a 4.7 litre petrol V8 as opposed to the GL's 3.5 diesel)
Nonetheless, good to see some more people in to Auto section.

I'm not saying they're badly built... Japanese cars last forever. But there are such better options for what people pay for a Lexus.
Also, Lexus was the first company to copy Audi's LED headlight strips. You can't argue with that.
Edit: also I didn't mean just that specific Merc model, there are many that are several years if not decades older that look similar to Lexus' oversized box of an SUV

It depends what people want though. Lexus make many cars that are comparible to other cars (that's the whole basis of the motor industry, and business in general - there can be no monopoly in any business), and Lexus make the best option for many people.
I will agree that Lexus (as well as multiple other makes) adapted to Daytime running LEDs after Audi, but interestingly Lexus were one of the first to have the safety feature of daytime running DRLs many years before. That's business that LED's were copied, Audi did not trademark nor copyright the patent and design.
About the four wheel drives, I did mention that all Lexus LX models are based on a Land Cruiser, and you will be hard pressed to find a 4x4 with more history, apart from the likes of the Jeeps etc, Lexus/Toyota have been at the front of that class for many years.
