Even though it's considered a sin, my family disagrees that sexual things would be a sin. It's the way of life, why would God Disagree??? Think about it ppl…

No masturbating is not a sin. The dirty thoughts you have while doing it is considered a sin however. And I'm sure most of those people who claim the don't probably do. Its just something that is natural.

ACTUALLY lol i think in the bible it says something about a man only dropping his seed in a woman and not let it waste

Actually, according to the Bible, masturbation is not a sin. However, the Catholic Church says that masturbation constitutes a grave moral disorder and every sexual act outside of marriage is a sin (not according to the Bible but to the Catholic Church itself).

It's only a sin if you let it be one.

This is true. It does say this in the bible. But the bible also says that the world was created in 7 days and skips over the creation of the dinosaurs and goes right to human population. So, not everything in the bible is to be taken seriously. It also says that we shouldn't commit incest, but Adam and eve had children who had to have sex with their siblings in order to populate the earth... Plus, the bible is thousands of years old, written by many people, filtered through more people, and translated hundreds of times... It wouldn't surprise me if the next translation would say that not having the ability to fly is a sin...

I don't think I've ever seen anywhere in the Bible that masturbation is a sin. And as for your friends saying they don't masturbate: EVERYONE MASTURBATES*. if you tell me you don't masturbate, I don't believe you. You don't even get the benefit of the doubt. You're either a liar, or you don't have hands.

*granted, there are probably a few people who haven't masturbated, but they usually aren't the type to talk about it anyway.

According to the bible, it's a sin because it's lust being satisfied without means of procreation. Lust is one of the seven deadly sins, in fact.

But just because it's claimed to be a sin by a book written by old guys translated thousands of times doesn't mean it's a bad thing that you shouldn't do.

The bible says that "spilling your seed" is a sin. This is because of the story of Onan. After god killed Onan's brother Er, he told Onan to get his brothers wife pregnant and produce an heir to Er. Onan didn't want to and spilled his seed on the ground. This probably refers to coitus interuptus, not masurbation. The only way it would be a sin is if you lust while masturbating, since the bible says lust is a sin.

None of that means that masturbation is bad however. The bible is just a book written thousands of years ago. With every translation, the meaning changed more and more.

Nope, it was translated with near perfect meaning. They just had to change words on something's, cause those words didn't exist in the English language.

The Bible says that the power of procreation is meant to be used for procreation only, not to be misused for pleasure. So yes, according to the Bible, it is a sin.

Not everyone does it. I have friends that I know for a fact would never do it for the reason that they think it is a sin. I know they don't. Don't say that everyone does it when you do not have full proof.

I have done it and still do it on occasion. I am trying to quit. I'm getting closer to quitting. I only do it about twice a week now. I believe it to be a sin but you are free to believe and do however you want.

Do you have evidence that something translated thousands of times is an accurate translation?

No matter how many times it has been translated, the original meaning is still there. The closest thing to the original translation would be the King James version. But still, everyone still has the right to intepret it however they want.

I find it weird that masturbating is considered a sin, if its a sin and you don't masturbate, it isn't going to make you a better person. you'll probably have wet dreams which is just awlward, especially on a feild trip, imaging wakig up with your sheets wet and slightly sticky. thats not something i would like to wake up to.
