Hey, Just as the title says..

What did you dad or mom think when you had to start shaving? What did they say when you asked them to buy you a shaver? We were sitting at the dinner table about a week ago, and my dad noticed that im getting a little bit of a mustache, and asked if my older brother (19) and me (14) were racing to see who could grow one faster..
And its really embarrassing to talk to my parents or anything about Puberty to them.. So how do I go about asking or talking about shaving to my dad?? Im really nervous about it!:(:what:

Thanks!!

How did you ask them? Were you nervous when you asked them?

yea i was kinda tired of my mom teasing me about my peach fuzz, so i just asked my dad plain and simple "can you teach me how to shave?" i was very nervous (but i tend to over think things). at the end he was actually fine with me asking and he kinda got excited for me to ask...but he is weird like that haha

I first started get hair above my lip and my sideburns were getting "longer"...I just asked me my mom to get me a razor and shaving cream next time she went to walmart. no biggie.

Well when I was 14 I snuck into my dad's room and used his razor for like about several months then when I turned 15 I bought my an 8 pack of disposable razors. I dry shaved without shaving cream but recently more hair has come in and everything and I had to buy shaving cream for the first time today. It's a bit of a pain though.

So technically I never told them. I hid it. I taught myself how to shave.

its a part of growing up and im sure if u have an older brother than its not much of a suprise to him cause ur the 2nd child, when i decided to shave my body i bought it on my own at the store with my friend so you could also just go out and buy it. i dont have any hair above or under lip so i dont have to worry about that quite yet.

I dont have to shave my face yet, but shave pubes cos I swim heaps. less sweaty. I dont have a dad parents divorced tears ago. I said "Mum yikes these pubes are yuck can we look at razors in the supermarket" MUM said " Ok we will go tomorrow" no big deal really. Well if its awkward to ask parents maybe your bro shaves but your dad was maybe trying to open up the conversation on this stuff

I'll add you on this

I just stole my Grandpa's razor(Dont live with parents) and started using it. I left some hair on it once and he asked me about it. I said yeah i used it. He jokingly said "hope you didnt shave your balls with this." i plainly and straight faced said "I did..." The next day he bought a pack of disposables and handed them to me saying "Shave your balls with these from now on." So when i run out i ask him to pic me up some and he does. Thats how it went down. xD

it wasn't a big deal, my dad taught me how to shave. it's cool shaving side by side in the morning.

I started shaving at 16. I actually didn't even say anything to my parents about it. My mom noticed that I was growing some hair on my chin and she went to the store one day and bought me a razor. I kind of figured it all out on my own, as my dad really isn't the type of day to teach me how to shave.

I don't think you should feel embarrassed about it. All guys have to shave. It's a very normal thing.

I don't see why it would/should be a problem. I never had to tell.
