View Full Version : Piercing/tattoo forum?

Title pretty much says it all, i'v noticed lately there isn't really anywhere on VT to make a thread about your piercings or tattoo's etc, i mean i suppose they could be put in fashion but fashion is mostly clothes and styles etc.
I was thinking either a tattoo/piercing forum or a body alteration forum? Im not sure what else exactly body alterations would include ... maybe for people who have had to have surgery of some sort?
Just a suggestion :)

I don't think this is needed.
We have a Fashion section for talking about them and there has been threads in the past with it..
If it was a medical question to do with them then we have VT general hospital
If it's really obscure then put it in "The White Padded Room" as that serves for a misc section.
Overall I simply feel that this is not needed. VT is primarily a help site.

Other Works (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=128) is a good place to put tattoo and peircing related threads too.

Sandy (my new nickname for Sandeep) has a point there. I've also seen posts about tattoos with special meanings in the Music and C&SH forums. Point is, most of the time you can find a place to put those threads.

and since this is a teen forum, i'm guessing most of us aren't old enough to get tats or piercings yet.

Well no, since members who joined at say 14, and are now 19 still come; and in the US, you can be as young as 16 and get one, I got my first at 16.
...and one can really get a piercing at any age(excluding those in the private areas)

I thought in the US you had to be 18 for piercings or tats without parents permission.

Ew...no. Not a big fan of those things so it wouldn't do me any good. And as others said, Other works or Fashion should work just fine.

I post about my tattoos in the Others Artworks. Tattoos are art, so I think it matters there.
This is a teen forum so not many people have them here so it's not really needed.

Nope, it ranges from state to state, they decide there own laws, but states are changing to 18 now, I believe New York you could atleast have parents permission, now you can't.

In the state of Colorado, you can be any age to get a tattoo or piercing with parents permission but you have to be 18 to do so by yourself.

If there was a tattoo/piercing forum it would be pretty much empty.

I don't think that it is needed. There are ample forums that you could post these threads in.
