I started Shaving Facial Hair after I turned 15 because it started growing more noticeable. I started shaving maybe about once or twice a month, but it seems like Im starting to shaving more often. So, I want to know what the correct way of shaving your face. I shave my cheeks from top to bottom, and I under my chin also top to bottom, but sometimes I will go from bottom to top. I dont know if Im shaving the correct way or not, so I need your help, lol

I didn't know how to at first, either.
It's important that you use shaving cream when you first start. Make sure the blade is sharp if you're using one.
1. Wet your face with warm water to open up your pores.
2. Put the shaving cream on the areas you plan on shaving.
3. Start at the sides of your face. Start with short, soft strokes. Always shave in the direction that the hair grows.
4. You may have to pull back your skin to get the harder areas like your upper lip or under your chin. Just be careful not to push to hard. But still make sure you're not pressing to lightly.
5. When you think you've got it all, go ahead and rinse away all the shaving cream. Dry your face.
6. Shaving wipes away all of the natural oils that your skin uses to stay hydrated, so it's important to use some sort of moisturizer. (No, it's not gay to have good skin)
Don't be afriad to ask an older male role model to do this with you. I asked my dad. But it could be anyone. A dad, uncle, cousin, family friend, pastor. Someone that you trust. Just be careful. If you cut yourself by accident, don't panic. It'll only bleed a little bit and you'll be fine in just a day or two.
Good luck!

There is no right or wrong way unless you're cutting yourself or you're not getting all of the hair shaved. If you're getting all of the hair shaven, don't change a thing.

If you wanna continue shaving with razors, remember to shave along the grain. Only shave against it when you've had practice, cause you're more likely to cut yourself. Bit like Philip said, get an electric one, the shave isn't always as close, but you'll never get cut and its good if you have sensitive skin - less irritation (:

I was thinking the same thing. Seems much quicker, especially when you need to do it daily.

Electric razors are very useful until you decide to grow a full beard then shave.

i noticed that when I shave bottom to top my face is more smooth, it removes most the hair which means i don't have to shave as much. But when i shave top to bottom, its a little stubby. either way is fine.
