I personally believe that people have the right to walk around naked if they want. What do you all think?

It's just flesh and skin. What you think of it is up to you, if you feel that it is inappropriate and indecent, it's only because you make it so in your own head. We've all got a body, I can't understand why we're so afraid of something that we all have in common, why we're ashamed of it, embarrassed about our supposed "inadequacies." I like my body. I'm not all that "attractive," but is that what really matters to people? I'm comfortable in my own skin and proud of it. Doesn't mean that I feel the need to walk around naked, but if the desire should take me, I feel I would like the right to do so.
I also live close to San Francisco, where it's legal to do so, with respect for hygiene and other people's space. Just because someone isn't appealing to our mindset of what is supposed to be good and acceptable, doesn't make it a bad thing. From a different viewpoint, all people are beautiful, all people share a common base, and that's their body. We get too caught up in our heads that we forget what we are, and who that makes us sometimes.
Okay, I'll get down off my soap box now.

I think the state of nudity is just so sexual that it can't be accepted. It's a shame society can't accept people for how they were made (by which I mean from sexytime, not creationism or whatever).

if they want it, then why don't they just go to a nudist or naturalist camp?

In modern times, nudity is too sexual for that. Hell, in ancient times, people didn't just walk around being naked unless they were slaves. I don't particularly want to see naked people on the street. Too many awkward things could happen and I'm don't wanna see fat naked people.

Nudity is only sexual if you make it sexual. ;)

It's just not practical in a cold weather city. Can you imagine walking around Chicago naked in December? Yeah, you would freeze your nuts off.

There is a time and a place for everything. Some people are very uncomfortable when seeing someone naked.

I think naturalism is fine in your own home and naturalist clubs, beaches, bars etc.
However in public it's not. You need to think of others. I watched a documentary on naturalism and they realise this and it's why they have the clubs and stuff.

Their body, their life, not my problem.
If nudity makes others uncomfortable, that makes me uncomfortable. We're all naked under our clothes, we bathe naked, it's not like being nude's a new thing and no one's ever been naked before. Don't look if it's going to be an issue for your life. It's really not hard to avert your eyes from a naked person, attractive or not.
I'm not a nudist, never will be. I just have no problem with decent nudists, not like they're running around circling you for you to gawk at their nudity.

If you allow naturalism, it should be allowed for everyone. Not just the 'beautiful' ones. Maybe there should be an age limit, like for guys and girls, because it could be embarrassing having someone see your progression through puberty, in the reproductive areas. But I'm sure many, many mothers wouldn't want their kids to see a naked man or woman walking around. I believe naturalism helps people to get pass the barrier of how someone looks on the outside, and focus on the inside. Cause then, seeing a dick or vagina won't be anything special, they'll wanna know what matters, which is how you are in the inside.

Personally, I'm all for it. Naked bodies are not sexual, they are sexualized. They're completely natural and if somebody chooses to be a nudist they should have full rights to do so.
Realistically, I know it's not going to happen anytime soon in this culture.

If more people were naked it would become less sexual since it's not "forbidden".

If people didn't act the way they do now, i don't think it would be that big of a deal.
However you'll have the typical school board mothers who think everything except proper religious education is immoral.
Personally though i wouldn't want to be walking down the street seeing multiple people who are totally nude, that wouldn't be very pleasant.

i would say its mainly illegal because the perverts see something and they want it. thats why alot of strip clubs are only topless because they dont want people to think they can have it.
what would be a great idea is if the extremely attractive people had to be naked.jk

It does happen. Primitive humans didn't wear clothes and no one cares.
Tribes of people in Africa don't wear clothes and no one cares.
Shame from nudity is a learned cultural value.

Bath already covered the sexualisation of nudity. Believe me, you don't get people at nudist resorts going round shagging everything that moves. On the contrary, its a very family & child friendly environment, mainly because even for a newbie, after a short time surrounded by naked people you stop noticing the fact they are naked same as you don't consciously for e.g. notice glasses on a friend who wears them all the time.
Being naked doesn't suddenly increase the proportion of cute to ugly people. On the contrary, "don't judge a book by its cover" applies : people out of their clothes can look a lot better or much worse than you'd have thought.
