My school asks that anyone participating in a sport take a physical exam. I would like to know what to expect in a physical exam. What does the doctor do and everything?

hey checks your height and weight and askes you some questions general ones and then checks your groin for hemroids.

he checks your groin for hernias, and examines your testicles and penis for cancer.

It's no big deal, just a basic checkup. Height, weight, make sure you're not doing drugs/smoking, check your penis/testicles.

They checkout your penis, then at they're breaks, they talk about the big ones, n make fun of the small ones. My Aunt did these checkups at 8 different clinics, n said they all discuss the penis's they've seen that day. Just make sure ur sem-hard so u look big, but DON'T get a boner!!!!! They talk about those 2!

I've had a Physical exam twice now, it's weird at first but when he actually checks it it gets awkward and awkward = silent with me. I'm scared of getting a boner when getting a Physical.

Do your parents have to stay in the same room as you? Like watch? Have you gotten any comments about size or pubic hair or anything from the doctor? I've been wondering about this question, but to lazy to post. Then the OP posted it haha

At my school athletes have to have a physical every year and I just got back from mine. We have a night where a bunch of doctors and nurses volunteer and any athletes can get them free. Tonight was guys. You show up and strip down to boxers and put your clothes in a locker then go into the gym. There they have stations set up and you get a physical form and go from one station to another. The first they did stuff like your weight and blood pressure. Then they did an eyesight test and the dr. looked at your eyes. Next they felt your neck and checked throat nose and ears. Next they did the breathing thing while they listened to lungs. Next you had to drop your boxers and bend over and they looked at your spine (not sure why you had to be naked for that). Then you put your boxer back on and sat on a table where another dr checked your reflexes and check over knees and feet. The next station you dropped boxers again and did the turn your head and cough routine looking for hernias, then you laid down on a table still naked and the dr checked over your nuts and penis and pushed down on your abs. The dr made sure you knew how to check yourself for testicular cancer. Then you turned your sheet in to another dr. who checked to make sure everything was signed off and asked if I had any questions. Then you got dressed again and went to the computer lab. They are big on concussions this year so we all had to do this computer test where you had to match patterns and react to stuff that appeared on the screen. They said that the computer gets down how you react now and if you get a concussion you have to rest until you can do the same on a retest that will show you are fully recovered. Kind of cool. There was a rumor that they were going to make you pee in a cup for a drug test but they didn't.

I trim my pubes short and my brother shaves his totally. We went around together so we were both at the naked stations together and none of the doctors reacted at all.

If they do, they're being EXTREMELY unprofessional, at best and potentially breaking the law. Patients have a right to anonymity and secrecy.

To the original poster, they may make you pee in a cup. If they do, they should give you a private bathroom to do it in. You *may* have to go into a bathroom where many guys can go in at a time, but there should be a private stall in that bathroom (like at an arena or similar).

If you want your parents in there, I think you have that right. If you don't want them in there, you can kick them out.
