Prom!

So I'm going to be a junior this year, so that means prom is coming up. Not to mention that, but I'm also planning prom and am the head of the prom committee...yikes.

I promised myself that I would come out right before senior year when I'm at the top of the "high school status quo", so hopefully I can bring a guy then, but for junior prom I'll bring a girl.

Anyway, that's not really apart of the question I have. For any LGBT people on here, have you brought anyone of the same sex with you to the prom? How did you ask them? What were some of the reactions by people?(If there were any)

Me and my best friend went to prom together. We went as friends, but like.. we presented as a couple for prom preview so I guess it counts. And we slow danced lol. She actually is a lesbian, so a lot of people were unsure of whether we were going as friends or an actual date, but my school is really accepting of gay people, so it wasn't a big deal.

And how she asked, well I'm pretty sure we were just sitting around complaining about not having dates and she suggested it, and I was like hell yeah. We did the whole corsage and boutonniere thing and everything.

I've seen a lot of other girls go as couples as well, but I can't think of any guys that have gone together, though there are a lot of openly gay guys at my school and like I said, it's very accepted at my school.

i went with a really close guy friend of mine last year who is totally straight but when i asked him he agreed..... not only that when people asked if we came as friends or a date he would joke around like it was date..... my school is a school of mostly country folk and dosent really accept the homosexual community very well but prom is the place to be yourslef and have fun. me and him did just that and had a blast... dont let what other people think affect your descisions.... hope i was of some help and good luck dude...

I didn't bring an actual date, but I did have a friend. We walked around together, and hugged and latest all over each other... if that counts... LOL!
Anywho, I did kinda have that experience before. I want to.

Well I am only going to be a freshmen this year but in the past jr highs school dances I've only asked a guy to go with me... I just flat out asked him right in the lunch room.... I felt like a complete idiot after cuz he was dating my friend and was planing on bringing her.... Tucker and I haven't really talked since......... So I basicly ruined a friendship again....... Oh and my school is like 1/2 accepts 1/2 try's to make fun of you, but when people tried to make fun of me for it.... Well let's just say THEY were late for class sometimes. I am not saying I approve of violence though! So there's my story bye!
