I haven't jacked in the shower in ages either because it takes forever. I think it has to do with the heat, steam, and water making it harder to concentrate. And you are standing as well; I find it harder to get off while standing anyway and prefer to be sitting comfortably. If you really have to j/o in the shower, just do it on the toilet before or after you shower.
