Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
-Robert Frost

Smoke, screams, and destruction was everywhere.

I ran through the streets of the city, screams and cries for help filling my ears. My mind filtering out as much as possible to avoid the insanity that began hooking itself deep into my mind.
How could this get so far? How did it all begin? Could this of been prevented, or was this an unavoidable action that not even the most powerful prayer or God could stop? All of that didn't matter right now. What mattered, was ending the chaos, and it's creator.
I slowed down, panting heavily, my heart thundering in my chest like some monstrous hummingbird beating it's wings, trying to escape the fate that seemed ominous to all of us.

Keep your mind set Harmony. We can't just give up now. We've got to stop what we started.

My subconscious mind reminded me, urging me to keep going. Nodding to myself, steadying my breaths, I dove into my memory, forcing myself to remember how I, blinded by greed, and corruption, had allowed this to begin. The memory slapped me viciously, jolting my body from the sheer power of it, causing my muscles to tense. I remembered now, and was damned determined to put an end to this. I sprinted once more, now into one of the buildings where I knew one of my enemies lay ahead, waiting in anticipation for my arrival.

The building trembled from the explosions and mayhem that was continuing on further down the street, dried cement fragments falling from the ceiling. I shut my eyes, allowing my armor to change and prepare for the certain fight ahead.
Just as it almost completed it's sync, I was knocked off my feet, and sent flying forwards into the thick concrete wall ahead of me. Upon impact, the wall trembled, threatening to topple over on top of me.

"You've kept me waiting, Harmony. I thought that you may of given up hope, and surrendered to the good Doctor himself. Pity, I was wrong."

A silky, yet threatening voice purred from behind me. I scrambled around, my head dizzy from the impact on the wall, to face my attacker. I only had enough time to see her savvy silhouette, hand on her hip, before a loud crash filled my ears, and darkness swallowed everything.

This was only a taste, of what was to come.

Very nice, Seems somewhat Anime-based.

Thank you! Now that I think of it, it kind of does, so for pointing that out, I may change a few things in my writing to better fit that!

It sounds interesting, like it could be a good novel. I noticed quite a few grammar discrepencies, but it's not the final draft and my mind picks up on those things like no other. Leaves the reader in suspense to find out what happens next, which is a good technique to cause one to continue reading. I like it, though I do notice quite a few grammatical errors.

Thank You! Yes, I'm not quite used to Proof-reading my things yet, but I'm getting there. I'm glad you like it.
