Ok, I used to accationally cut myself. When I did it it was pretty deep. I tried to stop ans started again. I tried stopping again and I havent cut for about 3 months. But now I am over stressed and I feel like cutting myself. I am trying to resist, but Its getting out of control. Any ideas on how to stop the temptations?

Ok this is what my friend does who used to cut all of the time... She has several ice cube trays which she keeps in her freezer and when she gets depressed she gets a handfull of them and crushes them with her bares hands she tells me this works and gives her the same relief as cutting used too... Please try this please just give it a try im sure that it will work! oh yeah and if you do try it please get back to me and tell wheather it works...

usually i would give an infraction but this seems as a genuine mistake, and did not mean to promote self harm. this is a tricky one because although it helps away from cutting, it can still be a form of self harm..... everyone take note and be careful with using this tactic. - Waiting

I know exaclty what you mean. what I do when I get the urge to cut, is I exercise, I read, anything to keep my mind occupied and my hands full. the feeling will pass. Just busy yourself in anyway possible. Its not the most fool proof way, but it works occasionally for me.
