Samsung galaxy 2 issues.

Well, it appears that whatever phone I get I have issues, first the blackberry, now this..


My phone (samsung galaxy 2, android) has been having issues all day.
It would work for an hour an then -- wouldn't.

I have access to Wifi and my GPS, but I don't have service to make calls or text. Instead all I can do is make emergency calls. I'm not receiving anything and I can't send anything.
I've taken out the battery 3 times, taken out the sim card once and put it on front of my air conditioner ( it was hot) and still in "emergency calls only". I put it in flight mode and it still was in the same place as I was before.

I've only had this thing since mid-June, precisely June 15.


So, what should I do?

Possibly, it could be something with your carrier's network, or your plan. I don't think it is the phone itself, because it wouldn't be able to make emergency calls, most likely. Have you tried to move it to another area, maybe where there is another cell tower?

That crossed my mind, but on thier website. No issues where stated.
I'm not quite sure where there is another cell tower, considering it's a very civilizied city..

My best bet is the sim card. It sounds like you fried it if it's hot. I'd call your carrier and ask them to send you a new one.

Go to the store you bought it from, I had similar problems with mine, HTC Android...they gave me a new SIM Card and that fixed it, they gave it to me for free...hope it helped.

Then yes, your best bet is to try and have the SIM replaced. You don't need one for emergency calls, so even if you take it out, it should still say that.

Agreed with the posters above. It sounds like you fried your sim card. And now your phone wont recognize it. Hence the Emergency Calls only. Like the above posters said, Call your carrier and tell them your sm card is not working. Or take it into one of the carrier's stores.
