I love decorating cakes and I want to start selling cakes. Nothing too big but maybe just a small business around my church or something. Any tips for how to get started? What's a good price?

Best if you can let people know what you do, so can you have a few posters put up or flyers around. As for price then maybe its more about seeing what people will pay. Some may be more others less, but business is business and more people know what you do. My brother started his garden service business that way. Can you make up photos of your work also toshow potential customers what you do. Also there might be some business in a cake decorating workshop or session for younger kids.

I think doing posters, flyers advertising on facebook and social networking sites.
Price the cakes reasonably but also have a bit of profit and depends of the size, decorations of the cake on the price. Good luck! :D

Get a business license. Advertise in social websites. Make discount coupons. To determine price add up the costs of everything. So if it costs $4 to actually make the cake (flour, eggs, etc) times it by 3. It will cover the rent, the employee cost, and it will give you ome extra money. So add it all together and that's 3, so you times the actual cost to make it times 3. It's illegal to actually own a business if your under 18. So your parents will have to sign on to help, cause your a minor in Nevada. If you decide to sell, without a food license and such. You could get sued if someone gets sick, and then you get charged by the state for a few thousand dollars and your business will have to shut down. You also have to have a health department card, which can be found in Henderson, just go to the health department,t you watch a 1-2 hour video, and then get a shot. Then you get the card. The test and video is a requirement. But the test is so easy, they don't really even care if you get answers right or wrong lol
You just go over the test with the instructor, just try to get an ok score. You could even change the answers as you go along checking the answers with the instructors haha, that's how much they dont care (but you don't wanna get caught :P)
