My dream career

My dream career is to be a very successful and we'll known history professor at a very high end paying private college or university and also write books both fictional and on my favorite history subjects like Revolutionary American living and such. I know achieving this will take a ton of work but I believe with God's help ( if it's His will for my life) I can make it. Now for the critics advice. Do you all think it's possible to be a history professor and make enough money to live comfortably with a good size house, a nice car and have money for family vacationing. Now I'm not talking mansions and luxury cars and exotic vacations.I mean with that type of income can I provide for a family and be in the upper middle class of America where families "have money to spend" and not "living pay check to pay check" =)

It can depend, on if you become an academic, or if you are a leader in the field you choose. If you work hard and produce good work there is no reason for you not to be. Any professor has a decent pay check and can support a family, but how well depends on the level they get to (I want to be a Professor of Shakespeare... so I researched all this xD)
