I don't really think so. They get destroyed and reabsorbed by the body if they don't get ejaculated. They die either way.

In theory yes i suppose but even if they were ejaculated into a female only one sperm combines with the egg the rest die or get lost.

Well lets think. When you get a girl pregnant, only 1!!!!!!!! sperm penetrates the outer layer of the egg. So this is like saying you waste thousands of lives every time you have sex. It happens no matter what. You waste thousands of lives when you die. Some people even waste theirs... (that was a pun)

Sperm are cells. The body produces many cells of various different types and most of these have much shorter lives than you do. You continue to live because your body replaces the cells that die with new ones.

Also cells are not alive in the sense we are alive. There is nothing to suggest they are conscious, have feelings or feel pain and they don't have free will, rather they react in a very predictable way to their chemical environment.

You could argue that each sperm is a potential new human life but it is only potential and doesn't become real until the sperm fertilises an egg. Even if you squirted every single sperm you produce into a female who is in the reproductive phase of her life only the tiniest fraction would fertilise an egg. When fertilisation happens only one sperm out of several hundred million you ejaculated makes it in to the egg and for much of the month there is no egg there to fertilise and neither will there be in the time the sperm can survive inside her.

Finally it is not possible to store sperm indefinitely. Even if you don't ejaculate them they still die and are reabsorbed by the body.

It is a strange system but not one we can change. Enjoy orgasming and ejaculating and don't worry about it.

well sperm cells are haploid cells, so really they are only half a potential person :p
but if you mean killing them in the sense of ending thier lives prematurely? then no you are not. they only live for a set amount of time in or out out of your body anyway. they're not sentient so dont feel bad.

sperm cells, like many other cells often self-terminate after while or when they are no longer useful and get recycled or disposed of. millions upon millions times a day this happens
