I have a few dry patches on my dick and it hurts to jerk off. Is it normal to have dry patches?

Maybe you're masturbating a little too much? You could just be chaffing. Lotion it up and just don't jerk off for a few days. If that doesn't work, have a little chat with the doctor.

It's probably just from to much friction, start using lube when you jerk, and also put lotion on your penis and try to be gentle until it full heals!

I've never not used lotion, last time I haven't used it was probably 4 years ago. I had to switch to body soap 1 week ago because I ran out of lotion. Could it be because of the water and soap?

yes it is because of the soap. soap dries out the skin and the amount being used to jack off is most likely responsible for the dry skin

Never use soap as a lubricant. This is possibly why you have got said "dry patches".
Soap contains some unfriendly chemicals that if used a lot in masturbation can cause certain skin problems. They should clear up within time.

well if your jerking off while wet, some of your skin comes off easier... and the dry patches are kind of like scabs... except not bloody... its just your skin repairing itself... not a big deal, just give it a few days and it will heal. also try using some kind of lube and see how that works... you should not have these patches after that.

Um make sure that your hands are clean before you jerk off, my cousin had this. We googled it. It said that this happens when you jerk off with dirty hands
