HTC Portable WiFi Hotspot

Hi

I use a mobile internet connection on my phone to tide me over when I'm on caravan holidays or when my parents turn my router off

On my last computer, this worked fine and I had no problems connecting to the internet

But with this one, I keep getting timeout errors and shit like that. The Network and Sharing Centre says I can't get online but I can connect to Skype, Spotify and Hamachi fine. I can do IM and calls but can't get on any websites.

My mobile provider is 3

Any solutions are greatly appreciated,

What type of computer are you using, also see if enabling bluetooth might help.

Well, there's a power saving mode enabled on HTCs, it turns off the mobile internet automatically if nothing is being used after 5 minutes connected to the hotspot.

Also, check your data usage, and the monthly amount you can use on your tariff or pay as you go allowance.

What is the exact error? I use the HTC Portable Hotspot a lot and it works fine. If nothing can be done you can tether the internet to your computer through USB.

What type of computer are you using, also see if enabling bluetooth might help.

Bluetooth? That won't do anything.

You should probably check if your HTC or the software to connect your HTC to the computer is blocking access to ports 80 and 443.
