My mate and this girl...

Recently me and one of my friends have found out that we both like the same girl...I've spoken to the girl about it and apparently she fancies both of us.
I'm not one who likes an open relationship and wouldn't be happy with her still having feelings for him while going out with me.

I'm not really sure what I should do, should I just let my mate have her..or do I try and be the only one she likes... and how would you recommend I go about this.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated..thanks :)

just tell her to chose between the two of you. she must like one of you more than the other.

I'd suggest both of you leaving her alone mate; if you both have feelings for her and aren't really, really good friends it's completely unrealistic to expect for one of you to see her and the other one to be cool with it, even if one of you says it is. Personally, I'd go with the bro code on this one man, before either of you get in too deep. The chance of one of you seeing her and and remaining friends for too long after is pretty slim. Personally, If I was in this situation I would either sit the girl down and ask her to make a choice between you and you're friend (Not gonna work in the long run IMO) or sit down with you're friend and explain that you don't see any realistic way of this situation ending happily for all of you; thus it's best to just leave it alone and move on together. Though this is all just my opinion man, but honestly, I don't see any good in this situation. Seen too many friends split, even come to tit-for-tat violence over a chick they haven't even spent a year with.
